Laser treatments can help with the appearance of acne scars, especially if the scars are hypertrophic or raised from the skin. If the scars are indented, laser treatment may also help, but you can also have them injected to plump them up. Find a dermatologist in your area who specializes in laser treatments and schedule a consultation. How much it costs will depend on the size of the area with scarring. Also, usually multiple treatments are required. If the area is small, expect to pay at minimum $150 per visit. If there is extensive scarring expect to pay a lot more. There is not a certain age you have to be, but your acne should be under control before you get the treatments. Otherwise, you will just continue to get more acne and possibly more scars and you will have spent the money for nothing. I have had it done and it didn't hurt much at all. There is usually some redness and there can be blistering. You also have to stay out of the sun for a couple of weeks before and after the procedure.
