Can i get help paying for laser treatment for acne?

My insurance covered it when I went for general treatment of acne at the dermatologist. Yours likely will as well. There also usually is the option of them using dry ice on it (which hurts more) which costs less.


By the way, you might really want to consider if this is worthwhile. The reason I say this is when I had it done, the acne went away, but it left very dark little bruises on my face- and I mean very dark (darker than most moles). Depends on your insurance company... but the laser code would have to be filed to insurance with a diagnosis code. Most insurances will immediately boot a laser code, even for acne. There are other treatments for acne that are not considered cosmetic to insurance companies. First of all, talk to the doctor's office that does that does the laser procedure to see if they will even bill insurance. My field is insurance billing and there are people I talk to in other physician's offices. There are a few places where I live that do these ';cosmetic'; procedures and do not even have an insurance billing department in the office.





Once you find a place that will bill insurance, check with your insurance company to see the type of documentation you will need to get this covered. The laser treatment office should be able to help you get this documentation. Often times the insurance companies want documentation that other things were tried first before covering a procedure. This shouldn't be a problem since we all know that once those acne marks are there only some type of procedure will help.





I noticed your question did not mention insurance. Are you talking about some other type of help paying for the procedure? If so, many of these places have a credit system. You would fill out the forms and see how much you can get approved for; then just pay it off monthly as you would any other bill.

yes. See a therapist and talk about how it affects your daily life and self esteem. Does it get in the way of your daily routines. Is it costly to treat with perscriptons and such things?





Insurance should cover it if it affects the quality of daily life, kind of like breast reductions, just a little more complex.
