I am considering acne laser treatment....?

I am considering acne laser treatment because I have been breaking out significantly. I have never had a problem with acne until now. I am 21 and dealing with the problems of a prepubescent teenager. I was wondering, does the laser leave a very noticeable bruise and if so, how long does it last? Also, if anyone has experience in this department, any and all comments would be very appreciated. :-) Thank you!I am considering acne laser treatment....?
Hi

I didn't start getting pimples/acne till I was 20. I went thru high school with perfect skin. So I can relate to you.

From personal experience I can tell you to avoid foundation if you must wear one wear a mineral foundation like Minerelle. Minerelle will cover your acne but won't cause any other break outs. Drink heaps of water this will wash the toxins out of your body. If you smoke or drink alcohol or gassy drinks this will make your acne worse. Again I know from personal experience.

I have tried had laser about 10 years ago. It took of multiple layers of my skin. For about a week it looked like I had no skin just red bloody marks on each check. It was about 2 weeks until I was okay to go out in public. It did improve my skin by 50%.

However, the past year I have been having FRAXEL treatments. Which are much better the the laser treatment. FRAXEL is a mild procedure with very little down time. You don't get any obvious scarring but you do swell alot. I had my 3rd FRAXEL treatment yesterday and I kept ice packs on my face all day, slept with my head higher than my body and woke up with very little swelling.

If I had my time again at your age I would try pro-active it is a lot cheaper.I am considering acne laser treatment....?
Instead of getting laser treatment use Neutrogena face wash in the shower. Its great and it worked for me I really recommend it.
hello. im 15 and for the last year i have been getting laser treatment. But its not for acne. I have a birthmark on my face that i am trying to get rid of. They use a machine called the ';yag';. but one time they had to use a machine on me, and they told me it was the one that got rid of ';red skin'; (sorry i don't remember the name of it) but im assuming it will be the same one they will use on you. When i had it done, i got bruised VERY badly. Where they treated me i was purple and black. And it stayed like that for about 4 days, than it began turning red. If you are getting it done, the best time to do it is in the fall, when you aren't so exposed to the sun. also... id try doing it on a break. like Thanksgiving, xmas, easter etc. when you don't need to be around many ppl =P Its worth it, it works. but you may need to go for more than one treatment
i've heard of that treatment, and was thinking about getting it myself. you take medication with it and it wears off every 2 or 3 months, but normally an appointment is scheduled for when you're next due. i have never gotten it done before so i can't say if the bruise is noticeable or if it lasts a while.
I'm not so sure about the standard laser treatment for acne.

One treatment that I keep hearing alot of good things about (but havent personally tried) is Medical Grade Medi Light Therapy and chiral Peel Skincare Treatment. Apparently this new type of treatment is receiving really good reviews for its results in treating acne and acne scarring.

The only place Ive heard of that offers this is Laser By Sia - based in Sydney. Check out their website if you want more information. Sounds pretty good to me !
I'm sorry, I've never tried out that method. But does it sound like a very healthy way to get rid of skin blemishes? Think about it- a laser on your face? I think you should try out a couple of other methods first. Maybe get an acne wash, read up a little on the internet. There are natural ways to get rid of acne, like:

http://www.grannymed.com/meds/acne.aspx

You should google for more. There are also answers to questions here on Yahoo! that may be helpful.

Basically, laser treatment is very expensive, and you should try out some other stuff before you blow all your money on an unneccesary procedure. If all else fails, you could do that. But keep your mind open.

Good luck, hope this helped.
