Are there any downsides or effects with having acne laser treatment?

I have had just one session of the n-lite treatment in London. (Seems you need to have a minimum of three treatments at intervals of one month apart.)

I have noticed a difference, although my acne was very light to being with.

All in all, so far I would recommend it.

My face was slightly red after the treatment but that went away very quickly.

And yes it did hurt, although they adjusted the power of the laser so that it wouldn't hurt so much. However, it seems that the more it hurts, the more it is likely to work in the sense that you are being treated at maximum laser power and therefore it is more likely to be effective.

Hope this helps. Are there any downsides or effects with having acne laser treatment?
Yes. Depending on the laser etc, it will hurt.

It might cause a 'purge' where it gets bad before it gets better. Or it might just mess up your skin where it will make your acne 10x worse, like you go from mild acne to severe with cysts etc.

Rarely the laser could burn you.

The most likely side effect is that you lose a ridiculous amount of money if it doesn't work, or makes your skin worse, because it is not proven and the people who perform the procedure mostly don't know what they're doing, and are ripping you off. If it goes wrong/doesn't work they won't give you any money back.

Sad, but true. You need to know this before you get it.Are there any downsides or effects with having acne laser treatment?
Is it that bad that you need a laser?
